Bonjour mes amis!
Il fait bien longtemps que je suis ici.
But I am indeed happy to return to the blog world.
But I am indeed happy to return to the blog world.
Since I had just missed the fabulous festivities from last week's Fashion Night Out in Savannah, I thought I would still participate from a distance, across the Atlantic back in Paris, and at Le Moulin Rouge itself.
All that glitters is gold, and the red mill still shines.
All that glitters is gold, and the red mill still shines.
Established in 1889, during Paris' Belle Epoque, Le Moulin Rouge surfaced the same year as the Eiffel Tower, it was a time of prosperity and optimism.
Such positive notions resulted in a new dance, the Cancan. It was originally intended to be a dance for couples, but soon enough became the main moves at the Moulin Rouge.
It's curious to walk by casually and regard it simply as part of the surrounding architecture, but once those lights turn on one can't help but conjure up images from Toulouse-Lautrec's posters, and wish to be a part of that Belle-Epoque.
Bisous,
Reba
